Mechanics: how Thursday events work in the UK. History: what happened to the Thursday app.
Are Thursday dating events worth it, going by the App Store?
The UK App Store listing shows a free app, category Entertainment, developer Honeypot Dating LTD, offering “city-specific, curated event listings, ticketing and updates”. It displays three reviews:
| Date | Event | What the reviewer describes |
|---|---|---|
| 14/08/2024 | Saturday run club, Urban Oasis | Hosts, a free drink, an even male/female mix, about 50 people |
| 17/03/2025 | A London event | A host’s welcome, ice-breaker games |
| 03/10/2024 | None, an app complaint | Map and sold-ticket count removed, local events harder to find |
The page chose these three. The run club was a Saturday event, not a Thursday-night bar, and none of the three covers anywhere north of London, its own question.
What does the listing not tell you?
The listing text this desk read states no ticket price, no list of cities and no entry age. Apple’s 4+ age rating is an app-content rating, which the listing does not tie to event entry.
Frequently asked questions
Are Thursday dating events any good?
The reviews on Thursday’s UK App Store listing say yes, with caveats. It rates the Thursday Events app 4.5 out of 5 from 199 ratings, read on 3 October 2026, and two of its three displayed reviews describe hosts. Those are reviews the page chose to show, not a fair sample.
How much are Thursday dating events?
This desk cannot say. The UK App Store listing text read on 3 October 2026 prints no ticket price, and Thursday’s own FAQ page returned no readable text to a plain request this run. Until a Thursday page states a figure, no price is claimed here.
Is Thursday dating still running in the UK?
The original app was announced as closing. Global Dating Insights reported on 10 January 2025 that Thursday had announced the closure of its once-a-week app and a move to ticketed Thursday Events. On 3 October 2026 the free events app was still listed on the UK App Store.
None of this recommends a ticket. This site covers dating for adults aged 18 and over; no page read here states the events’ entry age.
