The expansion claim comes from Global Dating Insights, which reported on 1 December 2023 that Thursday was live in 60 cities across ten countries after starting in London and New York. Co-founder and chief executive George Rawlings was quoted from LinkedIn saying investors had doubted the company could bring singles to bars outside London. The 60 cities were shared as an Instagram image, not text.
The names come from VIDA Select, which says Thursday launched in May 2021 in New York City and London and expanded in late 2023. Its European list, as read on 15 September 2026, includes Bath, Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Brighton, Cambridge, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Liverpool, Manchester and Nottingham, plus Dublin and five continental cities. It is the only city list in text this desk could find, and it is nearly three years old.
The January 2025 note that sits on top of it
VIDA Select’s page carries a byline printed as 10/01/2025, in the page’s US month-first format, and an updated stamp of 14 September 2026, the day before this desk read it. At the top, an editor’s note says the Thursday app has not been available since January 2025. Below it the 14-city list stays published, and in the sections we could read the page never mentions Thursday Events or Honeypot Dating LTD, nor gives a source for the shutdown date.
Our review of whether Thursday is still available in the UK found the swipe app’s UK store listings returning 404 while the events app is alive, which fits VIDA’s note about one product and says nothing about the other.
What the operator’s own listing says in September 2026
The one 2026 document is the operator’s. Thursday Events, listed in the GB App Store under Honeypot Dating LTD, is free with 198 ratings at an average of 4.5, and its version history as read for this piece on 15 September 2026 shows 6.0.3 on 7 September 2026, after 6.0.2 on 28 August and 6.0.1 on 14 August.
Its description promises city-specific, curated event listings, ticketing and updates in vibrant cities worldwide, and names no city. The four dated UK reviews we could read are the nearest thing to a geography. Two, from August 2024, describe a Saturday run club from a venue called Urban Oasis and name no city. One, from 17 March 2025, is titled Thursday events in London. The fourth, from 3 October 2024, asks why two apps were needed and complains that the map and the count of tickets sold had been removed, making local events harder to find without scrolling a list.
Why this desk cannot tell you which cities run events this week
The operator publishes per-city pages at thursday.com/events/ followed by the city name. This desk fetched the Manchester page on 15 September 2026: a 200 status and no readable text, because the page is rendered by script.
Unreadable is not absent. We will not write that Thursday has no events in Manchester, because we could not see the page that would say so.
The Manchester question has one older data point: a UK lifestyle blogger, writing in October 2022 after moving back from London, described joining Thursday in Manchester and noted that outside London the options on any app were thinner.

The pattern is one this desk keeps finding. Breeze’s thirteen-city expansion announced more than its listing evidenced, and Kasalyst’s rooms are all in London. A venue-based product cannot fake density: either there is a room in Cardiff on Thursday night or there is not, and the regional arithmetic that empties a swipe pool empties a bar faster.
